LIFE SKILLS Valley View Community Church is for anyone who is seeking meaning and purpose in life. The church exists to be a biblical community that helps people become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ who make a difference in this world. Jesus Christ came to give us life … a life full of meaning and purpose. In John 10:10 Jesus said, I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. To fully enjoy the life that Jesus came to give us, Valley View offers the following life skills courses. Webster's dictionary defines a skill as "the ability to use one's knowledge effectively and readily in execution or performance." Each life skills course is designed to help us grow in our relationship with God and to better equip us for life. The following courses are offered on a rotating basis. To find out which course is currently being offered please refer to the latest Events & Opportunities. WHAT WE'RE ALL ABOUT If you're brand new to Valley View this four-week course is for you. Discover how much God loves you and what it means to enjoy a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Also learn what we're all about and why we feel so passionate about the vision, values, and beliefs of Valley View Community Church. WALKING WITH JESUS Do you long for a closer walk with Jesus? Do you want to feel his daily presence in your life? Then this course is for you. During this four-week course you'll find out how to make room in your life for God. Together we will explore the importance of the Bible, prayer, community, and stewardship in our everyday walk with Jesus. DISCOVERING YOUR DIVINE DESIGN If you would like to grow in your understanding of whom God made you to be then this four-week course is for you. Discover your own unique God given temperament, spiritual gifts, and spiritual passions. In this interactive course you will gain a better awareness of yourself and a greater appreciation of others. Find out what you do best and where you best fit in the body of Christ. DISCOVERING YOUR MISSION IN LIFE All of us are on a mission. Do you know your mission in life? Discover the mission that God has for you. During this four-week course you will learn how to confidently and effectively share your faith in a style all your own. Through a variety of formats including video vignettes and group discussion you'll learn how to build deeper relationships, share your story, tell God’s story, and lead someone to Jesus Christ. THE ALPHA COURSE Alpha is an international ten-week course designed as a practical introduction to the Christian faith. The course provides an opportunity for people of all backgrounds to come and explore the meaning of life in a safe, fun, non-threatening atmosphere. Each week includes a delicious dinner, video presentation on one of the basics of the Christian faith, along with a small group discussion. BIRD’S EYE VIEW OF THE BIBLE The Bible is the world’s number one bestseller, read by more people than any other book. This overview of both the Old and New Testaments provides an excellent foundation for Bible study. Through this course you will get a better handle on the truth that God has revealed, experience the life-changing power of God’s Word, and develop a comfort zone for your own personal Bible reading.
